Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Kermodian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lions Head (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kermodian's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Arctic Monkeys - Mardy Bum. Lions Head has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Mark Kermodian's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Kermodian!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lions Head!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Head tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Mark Kermodian seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kermodian tries a head kick but it misses.
Head keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Head connects with a right hand. Kermodian shakes it off.
Head moves out of range as Kermodian strikes.
Head moves into range and connects with a jab.
Head tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kermodian sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Head somewhat.
Kermodian tries to land a front kick but Head steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Head cracks Kermodian with an open hand slap.
Kermodian throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Kermodian moves in looking to clinch but Head pushes him off.
Kermodian misses with a series of wild punches.

Head is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Head wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kermodian has him pressed against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Kermodian lands a right hand that snaps the head of Head backwards.
Head will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Kermodian up against the cage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kermodian throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

It looks like Lions Head has been cut.
Come on Kermodian - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Kermodian for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Head slowing the pace effectively.
Kermodian misses with a knee to the head.
Kermodian tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Head avoids it.
Head is trying to drag Kermodian to the mat but Kermodian just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Kermodian takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Head jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kermodian walks away with a smile on his face. Head gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Mark Kermodian has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lions Head.
Kermodian tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Head paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Kermodian stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.


That has opened up Lions Head's cut even more.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Head closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kermodian did well to prevent Head getting side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kermodian is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Head wants to control from the top but Kermodian keeps moving.
Head throws and elbow that misses. Kermodian uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Head's guard. Nice move by Kermodian!

I would just about give that final round to Lions Head.
