The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gill shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gill was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Gill takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Gill with shots to the head and body - Hawthorn looks very uncomfortable down there.
Gill thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Gill lands a big shot there that rocks Hawthorn but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
