PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dane Hoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hoy might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to -. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoy thows a left - swing and a miss!
Bob fails in his attempt to clinch.
Dane Hoy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bob tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hoy paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hoy misses the jab.
Hoy closes the distance and clinches up with Bob, looking for a takedown. Hoy pushes Bob against the cage but Bob circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hoy shoots for a double leg takedown but Bob sprawls well. He's pushed Hoy's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hoy lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bob circles away quickly and effectively.
Bob tries to clinch there but Hoy circles away.
Bob moves in looking to clinch but Hoy pushes him off.
Hoy throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Hoy misses with an uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hoy clinches up against the cage.
Bob misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Hoy.
Hoy lands a hook that snaps the head of Bob backwards.
Bob pushes off an throws an elbow but Hoy leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Bob takes a shot to the head.
Hoy blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Bob lands an elbow just above Hoy 's eye.
Hoy on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hoy gets control of Bob's arms and successfully pulls guard. Hoy will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Hoy is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Bob frees his head nicely. Oh but Hoy has switched to an armbar! Bob is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
