The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Hugh Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hammer uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Rose.
Rose tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hammer swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Armen Hammer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rose throws a right hand that Hammer ducks under and follows up with a left that Hammer also avoids with ease.

Rose misses with the combination.
Rose throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Hammer tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rose paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Hammer has managed to clinch.
Hammer gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Rose.

Rose tries a body shot but Hammer blocks it.

Rose tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hammer just stands there and leans against the cage.
Rose jumps guard but Hammer stands there with Rose around his waist. Rose gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cory Rose. That's going to take a lot out of him.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
