Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Canadian Assassin!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Keith Ronald Kernspecht!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some bone on bone action there as Kernspecht checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Assassin pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Assassin shoots in for a takedown but Kernspecht shows good takedown defense.
Assassin showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kernspecht.
Kernspecht throws a head kick that misses.
Assassin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Assassin throws a leg kick but Kernspecht sees it coming and moves out of range.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Kernspecht tries a head kick but it misses.
Kernspecht misses with a series of wild punches.
Assassin fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Canadian Assassin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kernspecht stuffs the takedown.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kernspecht throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Assassin throws a leg kick but Kernspecht sees it coming and moves out of range.

Kernspecht shoots for a double leg takedown but Assassin sprawls well. He's pushed Kernspecht's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
No luck for Assassin with that takedown attempt.
Kernspecht misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kernspecht looks gassed!
Assassin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kernspecht is fending him off so far but Assassin persists. Nope, Kernspecht circles away and we're back to standing.
A combination from Kernspecht does no damage.
Assassin fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Kernspecht checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Assassin fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Kernspecht shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Assassin is looking to stand up but Kernspecht isn't so interested in that idea.

Kernspecht gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Kernspecht looks to land a combination but Assassin avoids it well.
A bone on bone clash there as Kernspecht blocks the leg kick.
Assassin throws a leg kick but Kernspecht moved away.
Horrible takedown by Assassin or perhaps it was just good defense by Kernspecht which made him look bad.
No luck for Kernspecht with that takedown attempt.
Kernspecht tries to close the distance and clinch but Assassin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Assassin checks a leg kick.

Assassin tries to keep at a distance but Kernspecht has taken the fight into the clinch.

Kernspecht pulls guard effortlessly.

Assassin stands up and waves to Kernspecht to follow him.

Assassin shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Assassin seems to be working for a kimura but Kernspecht defends the submission attempt.
Kernspecht pushes Assassin off looking to stand but Assassin dives back in and keeps control.
Ground and pound from Assassin.

Assassin is working for a submission of some sort.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Kernspecht is looking to escape.
Assassin winds up and cracks Kernspecht with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Kernspecht actively working from the bottom here.
Kernspecht is trying to stand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Assassin working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Assassin looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Assassin is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Kernspecht is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Canadian Assassin!
