The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sabio shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Alpha defends it nicely.
Sabio throws a right and a left that Alpha avoids nicely.

Alpha tries to clinch up but Sabio circles away and keeps his distance.
Sabio dives in and grabs Alpha's left leg, looking for a takedown. Alpha pushes down on Sabio's head and hops out.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Sabio gets control of Alpha's arms and successfully pulls guard. Sabio will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sabio is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
