PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between dave houses (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and tombstone terry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). houses has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
terry tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
terry tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but houses paws at him with a jab and circles away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from houses.
tombstone terry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

terry closes the distance and clinches.
houses is pushing terry up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
houses is breathing heavily.
houses is trying to drag terry to the mat but terry just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

terry crunches a lovely knee into houses's ribcage.

houses trying to move into half guard but instead terry has managed to sweep!

houses tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

terry ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. terry no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
houses really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

terry has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes houses off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from terry is defended easily by houses.
terry moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
dave houses is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

terry clinches up with houses and pushes him back against the cage.

houses is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. terry can't fight it off and eventually houses manages to take the fight to the floor. terry looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
houses trying to control the position from guard on top but terry is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

terry is pushing down on houses's leg trying to pass to half guard. houses is fighting to maintain full guard but terry has managed to sneak the leg through.

Horrible takedown by terry or perhaps it was just good defense by houses which made him look bad.

houses closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming terry to the mat! terry manages to get full guard.
houses stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. terry swivels though and keeps the full guard.

houses wants to get up but he can't break terry's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

houses is wriggling around trying to escape.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

terry fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Well terry has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
