The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kai Gi swats away the attempt to clinch by Diaz.

Diaz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Kai Gi looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Diaz passes into side control.
Diaz is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Kai Gi's shoulder. That is not cool.

Diaz stands up and beckons Kai Gi to his feet.
Kai Gi is looking to clinch.
Diaz steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Kai Gi. That one must have hurt.
Kai Gi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kai Gi shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Diaz counters with a shoot takedown. Kai Gi fights it but they end up in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Diaz is posturing up here but Kai Gi has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Diaz tries to roll out but it's too tight and Diaz has to tap! Slick submission there by Kai Gi!
