Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jose Aldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rojin Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jose Aldo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rojin Garcia!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Anthony Taglia and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aldo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Garcia circles away quickly and effectively.
Garcia avoids the head kick by Aldo.
Aldo throws a low kick but Garcia avoids it.
Aldo throws a head kick but Garcia moves out of range.
Aldo throws a head kick that misses.

Garcia shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Garcia drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Aldo dives on top into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Garcia wants to sweep but no luck.

Garcia uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Garcia has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Aldo is trying to keep an underhook but Garcia manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Garcia ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Garcia no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Garcia wants to control the position but Aldo says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Garcia can do anything to dispel that myth.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Garcia counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Aldo's guard now.

Aldo wants to get back to his feet but Garcia is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Garcia would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Aldo looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Garcia got a little sloppy there for a moment and Aldo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Garcia has managed to get both his arms back between Aldo's legs - danger averted.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rojin Garcia dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Garcia is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Aldo's half guard.

Garcia is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Aldo thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Garcia tries to free his leg and advance position but Aldo is retaining full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Aldo has his foot on Garcia's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Garcia works his way back into a safe position though.

Aldo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Garcia doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Aldo is tightening it up a little... Garcia has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Garcia reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Garcia taps out! nice BJJ there by Aldo!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Jose Aldo!
