Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kage Chiba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Hawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kage Chiba!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Hawk!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Bruno Hogan and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chiba shoots in for a takedown but Hawk shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

and Chiba counters with a shoot takedown. Hawk fights it but they end up in guard.
Chiba throwing strikes from guard but Hawk blocks nicely.
Chiba working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Chiba accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hawk looking to hit a scissor sweep but Chiba is one step ahead there.
Chiba really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Hawk has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Chiba can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Chiba works to advance to full mount. Hawk defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Hawk is in all sorts of trouble here.

Chiba is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Hawk can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Chiba is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Hawk to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Hawk shrugs it off.

Chiba is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Hawk has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Hawk!

Chiba pulls Hawk in close to his closed guard and prevents Hawk from doing any damage or advancing position.
Chiba has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Chiba drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Chiba jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

so Chiba counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Chiba loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Hawk looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Chiba throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hawk works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kage Chiba dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Hawk gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Chiba drops back looking for a leg! Hawk is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hawk manages to kick Chiba off! Chiba jumps back into Hawk's guard.

Kage Chiba overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Chiba works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Hawk is breathing heavily.

Chiba is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Hawk is trying to escape and Chiba transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Hawk is forced to tap! Nice work there by Chiba! Very nice indeed!
