The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza slips a jab from Jackman.
Nice defenses there by Souza.
Souza comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Jackman takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Souza is on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Souza trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Souza slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Souza must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Jackman throws a looping overhand right but Souza ducks down to avoid it.

Jackman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Souza had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jackman defends it easily.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Jackman drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jackman jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Souza is on top in guard.

Jackman looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Souza has picked Jackman up and slammed him! Jackman can't keep hold of the triangle and Souza manages to pass to side control!

Souza wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jackman keeps working.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
