PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vic Tori (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tori comes to the cage accompanied by Walk by Pantera. Kent has chosen BLUNT- "The Iron Maiden" as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Jim Kent enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vic Tori!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jim Kent!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Wagner Zegers and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kent fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Tori scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Kent avoids the head kick by Tori.
Tori leaves Kent with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Tori throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kent shoots in and drives through. Tori sprawls well.
Vic Tori has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jim Kent.
Kent throws the kick towards the body but Tori avoids it.
Kent misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Tori misses with a low kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Tori throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Kent counters with an outside leg kick.
Nice takedown defense from Tori. No joy for Kent on that attempt.
Vic Tori is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Tori throws a nice head kick!
Tori misses with a low kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tori throws a body kick the misses

and Kent counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Kent trying to control the position from guard on top but Tori is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kent wants to pass the guard but Tori is keeping the position.

Tori kicks Kent off and gets to his feet.

Kent closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Tori to the mat! Tori manages to get full guard.
Kent prevents Tori from getting back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Tori has his feet on Kent's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Kent misses with a head kick.
Kent lands a nice looking kick to the body. Tori takes a step back to recover.
Tori throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Vic Tori will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Tori throws a sloppy head kick and Kent moves out of range easily.
Tori throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Kent counters with an inside leg kick.
Tori throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
A looping hook to the body misses from Tori. Kent does a little dance to reset his feet.
Tori throws a head kick but Kent moves out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tori throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Kent shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tori pinned against the cage. Tori gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Kent feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Tori's calf.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Tori looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Tori is looking to chop away at Kent's legs.
Kent avoids the head kick by Tori.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kent tries a head kick but it misses.
Tori swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Tori throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Tori displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Tori swings for the body but Kent moves out of range.

Kent shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Tori is looking to stand up but Kent isn't so interested in that idea.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Tori on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Tori tries to get out of the position.
Kent stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tori swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vic Tori dominated that second round.
That's time! Tori's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Tori misses with a leg kick
and Kent counters with a head kick.
Kent misses with a takedown attempt - Tori sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
No luck for Kent with that takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tori takes a swing at Kent's ribcage but misses.
Vic Tori seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The fighters circle momentarily. Tori darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Kent shoots in but no luck this time.
Vic Tori has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jim Kent.
Kent lands a head kick. Tori smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Jim Kent has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kent shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tori as he jumps to the side.
Tori throws a leg kick that is checked

and Kent counters with a shoot takedown. Tori fights it but they end up in guard.
Kent tries to free his leg and advance position but Tori is retaining full guard.
Tori knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kent on the ground.

Tori pushes Kent off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Tori is looking to score with low kicks.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kent throws a leg kick
and Tori counters with an inside leg kick.
A low kick from Tori is predictable there
and Kent counters with a head kick. That will keep Tori thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Tori swings for the body but Kent moves out of range.
Kent tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Vic Tori is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Tori scores with a push kick.
Tori throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Tori throws a head kick that misses.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Kent crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Tori - the referee stops the clock and Kent gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Tori. Kent manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Vic Tori.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tori, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
