Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kid Warrior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabe Burgos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kid Warrior!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gabe Burgos!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Jorge Garcia and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Burgos bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Burgos is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Warrior has escaped the position, nice work there.
Warrior is being controlled here.
Warrior is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Ground and pound from Burgos.
Burgos keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Warrior wants to get back to his feet.
Warrior wants to improve his position but Burgos is controlling well.
Burgos perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Warrior wants to improve his position but Burgos is controlling well.
Warrior trying to control but Burgos postures up.

Burgos seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Burgos throwing shots but Warrior is blocking nicely.
Burgos has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Burgos works his foot free and advances to mount.
Warrior is wriggling around trying to escape.
Burgos putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Warrior tries to reverse the position but Burgos maintains control.

Warrior looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!

Warrior can't escape the position.
Burgos biding his time, controlling Warrior.
Burgos avoiding Warrior 's attempts to control his hands.
Warrior knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Burgos on the ground.
Warrior tries to escape but Burgos has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Warrior looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
You can see the frustration on Warrior's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Warrior is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Burgos gets his way!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Warrior is working hard here to advance position.
Burgos is riding his opponent, not letting Warrior buck him off.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Warrior has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
I really don't envy Warrior right now.
Burgos tries to keep control of the position but Warrior is staying busy.
Warrior trying to control the action but Burgos just sinks the hooks in.
Burgos has the hooks in. Warrior is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Burgos avoiding Warrior 's attempts to control his hands.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gabe Burgos dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Warrior swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Burgos.
Burgos throws a low kick but it's checked well by Warrior.
Warrior fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Burgos doesn't manage to clinch there - Warrior circles away.
Warrior rushes Burgos with punches - Burgos moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Burgos goes down! Warrior follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kid Warrior!
