Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hyun Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kal Too (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kim comes to the cage accompanied by To the Top. Kal Too has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hyun Kim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kal Too!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kim slips a jab and a cross from Too.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Too is defended easily by Kim.
Kim will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Too ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Too misses with a two punch combination.
Too stalks Kim and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Kim's face. Kim staggers backwards, shaken.

Kim closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Too did well to prevent Kim getting side control.
Kim missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Too tries to get to full guard but Kim has control of the leg.
Too avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kim.
Too is refusing to be controlled, as Kim sits in half guard.
Too wants to control but Kim is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Kim throwing shots but Too is blocking nicely.
Too regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Kim.
Too seems keen to control Kim's posture.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kim moves out of range of the strikes.
Kim throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Too counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kim's guard now.
Too postures up and lands a big shot to Kim's brow.
Too slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Kim is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kim is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Too is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Too slips nicely into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Too is looking to pass Kim's guard but actually Kim recovers to full guard.
Too is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Too got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kim has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Too has managed to get both his arms back between Kim's legs - danger averted.

Kim is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Kim keeping full guard, as Too tries to pass.
Too sitting in guard here, content to control.
Too trying to control the position from guard on top but Kim is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Too looking to sit in guard and control but Kim gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Kim throws a big right hand that misses.
Kim stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Too swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kim preventing the sweep.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Kim tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Kim looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Kim throws a right and a left that Too avoids nicely.

That's five minutes gone in the round.
Too tries for a takedown but Kim circles away easily
and Kim counters with a nice body shot.
Nice jab there from Kim.
Kim swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Kim looks to land a right hand but Too moved out of range.
Kim throws a jab but it's blocked by Too.
Too lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Too shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Kim actively working from the bottom here.
Too stalling.
Let's hope that Too has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's six minutes gone in the round.
Kim is not content to let Too control the position.
Too is pressing down on Kim's thigh, looking to free his foot. Kim is holding on for now.
Kim is looking for a sweep. Too is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Kim regains full guard. Nicely done.
Too not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

That's seven minutes gone in the round.
Too with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Kim is trying to keep Too in close.
Kim pulls Too in close to prevent any damage.
Too stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kim swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kim striking off his back but it's not causing Too any problems.
Kim wants to sweep here but Too controlling him for the moment.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kim keeping moving, preventing Too from controlling successfully.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Too misses with a series of wild punches.
Kim tries to bum rush Too with a series of wild strikes but Too uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Kim shoots in for a double leg but Too sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Too has a takedown stuffed.
Hyun Kim has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kal Too.
Kim staying out of range there.
Kim misses with a body shot.
A combination from Too does no damage.
Too stalks Kim and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Kim's face. Kim staggers backwards, shaken.
Kim takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
A swing and a miss from Too.
Too changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kim tries to avoid it but Too manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kim to the ground. Kim escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

That's nine minutes gone in the round.
Too throws a hook but Kim avoids it easily.
Too with a lazy takedown attempt
and Kim counters with a series of strikes. Too will be more careful next time no doubt.
Kim misses with a few strikes there.

Too throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kim was covering up waiting for the punch and Too finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Too's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Kim is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Too is controlling him.
Kim is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Too postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kal Too dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


No joy there for Kim, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The crowd cheers as Too lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kim doesn't seem phased though.
Kim throws a combination that misses

and Too decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kim's guard.
Too controls from within his opponent's guard.
Kim is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Kim looking to control.
Kim striking off his back but it's not causing Too any problems.

Kim throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Too tries to free his leg and advance position but Kim is retaining full guard.

Kim is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Too slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Danga de danga de dang - Too scores with a four punch combination!
Kim is looking to chop away at Too's legs.
Kim misses with a series of wild punches.
Kim rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Too moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Too is defended easily by Kim.
Too moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Too shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Too was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Kim tries to lock up and control but Too gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Too lands with some strikes.
Too controlling the position easily from mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kim tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Too sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
You get the feeling that Kim really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Kim can't escape the position.
Too landing punches.
Too controlling the pace for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kim is working to get back to half guard.
Too takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Kim is in all sorts of trouble here.
Too postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Kim looks a forlorn figure.

Too controlling the position easily from mount.
Kim is squirming around, avoiding Too's attempts to control the action.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Too cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

That's six minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kim tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Too looking to control and managing it successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kim is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Kim is squirming around, avoiding Too's attempts to control the action.

Despite being in the dominant position, Kal Too just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Too chopping away at his opponent's legs.

That's seven minutes gone in the round.

Kim scores a takedown into full mount!
Too tries to hold on but Kim pushes him away.
Kim tries to control but Too wriggling away.
Kim is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Too can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Too tries to reverse the position but Kim maintains control.
Kal Too has got the better of the ground game so far.

Kim moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Too has worked his arm free - good work by Too!
Kim throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Too works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Kim prevents Too from improving his position.
Too keeping hold of Kim's head, controlling as best he can.
Kim sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Too defending well though.

That's nine minutes gone in the round.
Kim looks to land a strike but Too avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Kim gets to his feet - Too follows without any prompting.
An inside leg kick lands from Kim.

Too shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Too is keen to just control but Kim is a slippery customer.

Kim looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Too controlling the pace.
Kim punching from the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kal Too comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Too has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
