Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Reima Katekismus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Mercurius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Katekismus might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Reima's Requiem. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rocky Mercurius!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mercurius throws a combination. Katekismus tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
It looks like Reima Katekismus has been cut.
Mercurius feints and then cracks Katekismus's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Katekismus down.
Katekismus takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Katekismus throws a left and a right that both miss
and Mercurius counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Katekismus walks into a left hand.
Katekismus misses with a looping right.
Katekismus on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Jab by Mercurius.
Mercurius throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Katekismus's waist but Katekismus gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mercurius off to one side.

Mercurius lands the left hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Katekismus throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mercurius sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Katekismus misses the body punch
and Mercurius counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Mercurius won't allow Katekismus to sweep him here.
Katekismus controls Mercurius momentarily but Mercurius frees himself.
Mercurius makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Katekismus wants to control but Mercurius passes easily into half guard.
Mercurius moves into full mount! Katekismus won't be happy about that!
Katekismus is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Katekismus is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Mercurius with shots to the head and body - Katekismus looks very uncomfortable down there.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mercurius sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mercurius is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Katekismus is rocked!
Mercurius loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Katekismus scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Mercurius land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Mercurius stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rocky Mercurius!
