Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phil DeBlunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre The Giant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think DeBlunt might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Westside Connection - Bow Down. Andre The Giant has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Phil DeBlunt's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Phil DeBlunt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Andre The Giant!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Giant shoots in and drives through. DeBlunt sprawls well.
DeBlunt swings for the body but The Giant moves out of range.
DeBlunt bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
The Giant looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? DeBlunt is fending him off so far but The Giant persists. Nope, DeBlunt circles away and we're back to standing.
DeBlunt defends well against a solid takedown attempt from The Giant.
Phil DeBlunt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andre The Giant.
The Giant looks gassed!
DeBlunt throws a right and a left that both miss.
DeBlunt misses with a wild body shot.

It looks like Andre The Giant has been cut.
DeBlunt throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
DeBlunt ducks down and throws a hook to the body but The Giant moves away.
The Giant fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
DeBlunt misses with a straight right.
The Giant throws an overhand right that lands on DeBlunt's shoulder, as DeBlunt tries to avoid the shot.

That's one minute gone in the round.
DeBlunt throws a lazy right hand but The Giant sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
The Giant doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
DeBlunt lands a nice shot to the body.
DeBlunt is looking to wear down The Giant with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
The Giant uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by DeBlunt.

The Giant ducks straight into an uppercut from DeBlunt and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - The Giant manages to regain guard straight away.


The Giant is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The Giant is still in real trouble! Can DeBlunt finish him?
DeBlunt has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The Giant seems to have recovered his senses.

The Giant is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
DeBlunt is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
DeBlunt might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The Giant escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. DeBlunt gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
DeBlunt slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Phil DeBlunt.
DeBlunt throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A jab from DeBlunt misses.
DeBlunt throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
DeBlunt moves out of range of the body kick from The Giant.

DeBlunt catches The Giant napping and connects with a big right hand that sends The Giant to the canvas!
DeBlunt sitting in guard, not really doing much.
DeBlunt trying to control the position from guard on top but The Giant is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
DeBlunt is stalling in the full guard.

The Giant throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Phil DeBlunt dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Andre The Giant's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


DeBlunt fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
DeBlunt cracks The Giant with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! The Giant falls to his knees and DeBlunt doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Phil DeBlunt!
