The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Young gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hughes to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Hughes is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Hughes gets to his feet. Young looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Hughes fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Young, pushing him back against the cage.
Young wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Hughes gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

It looks like Gerald Young has been cut.

Young breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Young fails to land with a series of punches.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Young.
Gerald Young seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hughes looks gassed!

Young drops Hughes with a beautiful combination! Hughes stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Young is looking for the KO!

It looks like Ryan Hughes has been cut.
Young grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Hughes takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Young cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
