Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tokamek Yeets!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sam Waterston!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Felipe Paraventi and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yeets swats away the attempt to clinch by Waterston.
Waterston moves in looking to clinch but Yeets pushes him off.
Yeets tries to bum rush Waterston with a series of wild strikes but Waterston uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Waterston bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Waterston throws a sloppy head kick and Yeets moves out of range easily.
Waterston lands a head kick. Yeets smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Yeets feints and as Waterston raises his hands in defense, Yeets changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Waterston looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Yeets is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Yeets seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Waterston is wriggling around but Yeets manages to pass to half guard.
Waterston is looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Yeets lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Waterston down.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Yeets manages to get to full guard.
Yeets bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Waterston's guard.
Yeets is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Waterston wants to stand up but Yeets is controlling him.

Yeets is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Yeets fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Waterston sprawls well initially but Yeets persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Yeets moves into full mount! Waterston won't be happy about that!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Waterston slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Yeets is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Yeets stops Waterston from getting back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Yeets ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Waterston moves away.
Yeets avoids the head kick by Waterston.
Waterston fails with an attempt to clinch.
Yeets throws a right hand that Waterston ducks under and follows up with a left that Waterston also avoids with ease.
Waterston throws a head kick that misses.
Waterston pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Waterston looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Yeets throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Waterston throws a head kick that Yeets semi-blocks.
Waterston tries to close the distance and clinch but Yeets swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Waterston tries to clinch but Yeets moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Yeets uses his free foot to push down on Waterston's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Waterston.

Waterston tries to improve his position but Yeets has taken his back! Yeets has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Waterston tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Yeets pushes Waterston away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
