PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Si Liha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Drew Olbo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Olbo is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: When We Ride on our Enemys. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Si Liha!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Drew Olbo!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shigeki Sano and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liha shoots in for a takedown but Olbo shows good takedown defense.

Liha moves into range and clinches up with Olbo.
Olbo prevents the takedown attempt.
Olbo lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Olbo tries to pull guard but Liha holds him up against the cage and eventually Olbo drops back down to his feet.
Liha changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Olbo fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Si Liha. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A nice combination there by Liha.
Liha throws a leg kick but Olbo sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Liha throws a head kick that half lands.

Olbo is rocked!
Liha looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Olbo is fending him off so far but Liha persists. Nope, Olbo circles away and we're back to standing.
Olbo is still on wobbly legs! Can Liha finish him?
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Liha, right into the meat.
Liha tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Olbo swivels and escapes.

Liha gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Liha escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Liha is breathing heavily.
Liha throws a head kick but Olbo moves out of range.
Liha throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Olbo's waist but Olbo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Liha off to one side.
Olbo seems to have recovered his senses.
Liha will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Olbo looking to secure an arm triangle but Liha defends it well.
Olbo scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Olbo breaks from Liha's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Olbo is landing with some decent strikes but Liha is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Olbo jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Liha manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Olbo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Liha is looking to regain half guard here but Olbo keeps moving and retains side control.

Olbo tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Olbo is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Liha will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Olbo passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Liha!
Olbo lands a big shot there that rocks Liha but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Liha is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Olbo locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Liha is forced to tap!
