Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Odayr Shurlt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Emilianenco Preuss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Odayr Shurlt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Emilianenco Preuss!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Leandro Rodrigues and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Preuss wants to clinch.
A big right from Preuss misses.
Shurlt avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Preuss misses with a takedown attempt - Shurlt sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Preuss tries to clinch but Shurlt is having none of it.
Preuss tries to clinch but Shurlt moves out of range.
Preuss looks to land a combination but Shurlt avoids it well.
Preuss wants to clinch up but Shurlt keeps it at a distance.
Preuss is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Preuss looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Preuss tries to clinch but Shurlt is having none of it.

Shurlt instigates a clinch.

Shurlt has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Preuss clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Shurlt controls the action.
Preuss is trying to get back to his feet but Shurlt has full control of the position and if anything, Preuss has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Shurlt misses with an elbow to the head.

Preuss defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Shurlt's arms.
Shurlt has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Preuss's body.

Shurlt seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Preuss for as long as he can get away with.
Preuss looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Preuss is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Shurlt is staying active.

Preuss is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Shurlt gets his way!
Shurlt really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Preuss.
Shurlt scores with punches to the body.
Preuss is really stuck here.
Preuss really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shurlt. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Shurlt has good solid back control here.
Preuss is really stuck here.
Preuss covering up well under a barage of strikes.
Shurlt slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Preuss trying to control the hands but Shurlt won't let him.
What can Preuss do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Shurlt is hanging on to Preuss's back as he tries to escape.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Preuss clinches but Shurlt breaks the clinch
and Shurlt counters with a straight right hand.
Preuss walks into a stiff left hand from Shurlt.
Preuss misses with a jab, cross combination.
Preuss fails to land with a series of punches.
Preuss closes the distance but Shurlt moves to the side
and Shurlt counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Preuss tries to clinch but Shurlt moves away

and Shurlt counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Preuss can do anything to dispel that myth.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Shurlt stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Preuss looks to clinch

and Shurlt counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Preuss's guard now.
Preuss can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Shurlt controls the pace.
Preuss is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Shurlt is controlling him.
Preuss is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shurlt stays in close to Preuss's body and controls the position.
Shurlt might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Shurlt wants to pass the guard but Preuss is keeping the position.
Preuss trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Shurlt's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Shurlt drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Shurlt jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Shurlt is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Odayr Shurlt.
Shurlt circles away from the clinch attempt

and Shurlt counters with a single leg into guard. Preuss didn't expect that.
Shurlt slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Preuss is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Shurlt sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Preuss's guard.
Preuss wants to get back to his feet.
Shurlt controlling the pace.
Shurlt passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Preuss!
Shurlt looking to control and managing it successfully.
Odayr Shurlt overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Shurlt has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Shurlt lands with some strikes.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Shurlt is working for a guillotine from mount but Preuss frees his head quite easily.
Preuss is desperately trying to improve his position but Shurlt has a good base and remains in mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Odayr Shurlt dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Shurlt swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Preuss tries to clinch but Shurlt moves away

and Shurlt counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Preuss's guard now.
Shurlt sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Shurlt slips nicely into half guard.
Shurlt is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Preuss can do to turn this around?

Shurlt is working for a submission of some sort.
Shurlt with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Preuss tries to kick Shurlt off but Shurlt keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Shurlt frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Shurlt takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Odayr Shurlt just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Preuss wants to clinch but Shurlt slips to the side

and Shurlt counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Preuss!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Shurlt controlling the pace for now.
Preuss tries to lock up and control but Shurlt gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Preuss is wriggling around trying to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shurlt working for a submission but Preuss is keeping him at bay.
Shurlt takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Shurlt prevents Preuss from getting the reversal.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Shurlt controlling the position easily from mount.
Emilianenco Preuss has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Odayr Shurlt is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Preuss is desperately trying to improve his position but Shurlt has a good base and remains in mount.
Shurlt controlling from the full mount.

And that's the end of the fight!
Odayr Shurlt showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Shurlt has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
