The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida lands a head kick. Gray smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Gray shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Gray checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
An inside leg kick lands from Machida.
Machida moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Machida cracks the inside of Gray's front leg.
Gray misses with a few strikes there.
Machida lands a head kick. Gray smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

It looks like Mel Gray has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Machida throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gray.

Machida lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
