The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Steelman gets the takedown into side control.
Jericho is looking to regain half guard here but Steelman keeps moving and retains side control.
Steelman throws an elbow but Jericho slips to the side and avoids it well.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
You can see the frustration on Jericho's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Steelman lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Jericho down.

Jericho seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Steelman for as long as he can get away with.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jericho is on top in guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Jericho throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Steelman was covering up waiting for the punch and Jericho finishes the takedown easily into guard.
