Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chris Silvers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rikki Theodosi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silvers comes to the cage accompanied by Con te Partiro. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris Silvers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Rikki Theodosi!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Chris Edwards and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silvers shoots in for a takedown but Theodosi shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Silvers bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Silvers tries a head kick but it misses.
Theodosi works over Silvers's head and body with a nice combination.


It looks like Chris Silvers has been cut.

Theodosi looks to land a combination. Silvers sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Theodosi lands with a right hand.
Theodosi throws a body punch but Silvers moves out of range.

Theodosi throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Silvers.
Theodosi throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Rikki Theodosi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Danga de danga de dang - Theodosi scores with a four punch combination!

Silvers closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Silvers tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Theodosi tries to break the clinch but Silvers is controlling the position.

Theodosi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Theodosi throws a series of punches but Silvers moves out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Silvers gets the takedown into side control.
Theodosi is pushing Silvers's head away, looking to escape. Silvers manages to hold on to the position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silvers thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Theodosi is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Silvers asserts his dominance and retains side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Silvers working the strikes but Theodosi uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Silvers seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Silvers's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Theodosi looks like he's trying to stand up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Theodosi blocking the ground and pound attempt from Silvers.
Silvers takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Silvers has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Theodosi is staying active underneath Silvers, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Theodosi pushes Silvers off looking to stand but Silvers dives back in and keeps control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Theodosi throws a hook but Silvers blocks it.

Silvers feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Theodosi throws a right hand that Silvers ducks under and follows up with a left that Silvers also avoids with ease.
Silvers on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Theodosi missing with a left hand there. Silvers was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
The fighters circling - Theodosi throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Silvers tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Theodosi swivels and escapes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silvers moves out of range as Theodosi strikes.
Silvers steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Theodosi.
Rikki Theodosi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Silvers takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Silvers bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Silvers tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Silvers throwing strikes but Theodosi manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Theodosi wants to stand but Silvers is controlling his arm.
Silvers gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Theodosi tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Theodosi looks to get to his feet but Silvers has hold of an arm. He's persisting with trying to stand up and Silvers certainly isn't letting go of the arm! Silvers seems to be the aggressor now - he's rolled into the armbar and extended it - Theodosi is clearly in a lot of pain. He's tapping! He's tapping! What an ending! One minute you're in a dominant position, the next you've got a notch in the loss column - that's why we all love this sport!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Chris Silvers!
