Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Howie Mandell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trey Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Howie Mandell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Trey Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Mandell if he has to take too many more of those.
Mandell wants to clinch up but Diaz keeps it at a distance.
Mandell shoots in and drives through. Diaz sprawls well.
Diaz throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Diaz keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Nice sprawl there from Diaz as Mandell shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Howie Mandell. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Diaz lands a nice looking kick to the body. Mandell takes a step back to recover.
Diaz misses with a wild body shot.
Mandell shoots in but Diaz avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Trey Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Diaz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mandell is looking to clinch but Diaz is avoiding it.
Diaz misses with an attempted mid kick.
Mandell shoots in for a double leg but Diaz sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Mandell avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Diaz throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Mandell stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Diaz follows into mount!

It looks like Howie Mandell has been cut.
Mandell is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mandell seems to have got his legs back now.
Mandell tries to lock up and control but Diaz gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Despite being in the dominant position, Trey Diaz just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Diaz pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Mandell has a takedown stuffed.

Mandell moves into the clinch.
Diaz using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Mandell has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Diaz breaks from the clinch.

Mandell fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Diaz, pushing him back against the cage.
Diaz is trying to break the clinch but Mandell has him pressed against the cage.

Mandell manages to break the clinch.
Diaz scores with a leg kick.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Mandell. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Diaz circles away from the clinch attempt.
Diaz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Mandell tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Diaz paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A chopping leg kick lands by Diaz.
Diaz lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Diaz connects with a high kick.

Mandell walks forward, straight into a front kick from Diaz.
Diaz throws a looping overhand right but Mandell ducks down to avoid it.
Diaz shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Diaz stuffs the takedown.
Diaz misses with a low kick.
Diaz swats away the attempt to clinch by Mandell.
Diaz stuffs the takedown.

Mandell gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Mandell fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Diaz breaks the clinch.
Mandell tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Diaz paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A clash of legs there as Mandell blocks the low kick.
Diaz lands with a nice body kick.
An inside leg kick from Diaz misses.
Mandell shoots in and drives through. Diaz sprawls well.
Mandell fails to land the takedown.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Diaz lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Mandell has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Mandell and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
A head kick misses from Diaz.
Mandell steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Diaz. That one must have hurt.
Mandell fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mandell throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Diaz's waist but Diaz gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mandell off to one side.
Diaz connects with a solid leg kick.
Good leg kick by Diaz there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Mandell tries for a takedown but Diaz sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Diaz throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Mandell shoots in looking for a takedown. Diaz tries to sprawl out of it but Mandell keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Diaz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Mandell throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Diaz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Diaz takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Diaz thows a leg kick but Mandell checks it
and Mandell counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Mandell shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Diaz as he jumps to the side.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mandell tries to clinch up but Diaz circles away and keeps his distance.
Diaz wants to slow Mandell down by chopping away at his legs.

Mandell drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Diaz has Mandell pulled in close to control his posture.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Trey Diaz dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Howie Mandell's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Diaz fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Mandell.

Trey Diaz seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Diaz is looking to slow Mandell down with leg kicks.
Mandell moves out of range of the body kick from Diaz.
A solid leg kick lands there for Diaz.
Diaz throws a head kick that misses.
Diaz throws a lazy head kick
and Mandell counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Diaz is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Mandell throws a right hand that Diaz ducks under and follows up with a left that Diaz also avoids with ease.
Horrible takedown by Mandell or perhaps it was just good defense by Diaz which made him look bad.
Diaz stuffs the takedown.
Diaz scoring well with a low kick there.
Mandell wants to clinch.
Diaz throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Mandell fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Howie Mandell. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mandell moves in looking to clinch but Diaz pushes him off.

Mandell shoots for a double leg takedown but Diaz sprawls well. He's pushed Mandell's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Mandell counters with a nice double leg into side control. Diaz won't be happy with that.
Mandell cracks Diaz with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Diaz is still in real trouble! Can Mandell finish him?

Mandell is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Diaz looks calm but he's in trouble here. Mandell gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Diaz is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Mandell lets go of the hold and Diaz can pop his arm back in it's socket.
