PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jafar Agrabah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Wiltsie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wiltsie comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Mein Herz Brennt kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jafar Agrabah!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robert Wiltsie!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wiltsie checks a low kick from Agrabah.
Agrabah feints and then cracks Wiltsie's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Wiltsie down.
Agrabah scores with a jab to the head.
Agrabah checks the leg kick nicely there.
Agrabah ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Wiltsie moves away.
Wiltsie circles away from the clinch attempt.

Wiltsie scores with a takedown into Agrabah's guard.
Wiltsie controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
I looks like Wiltsie might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Agrabah is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Wiltsie is controlling him.
Agrabah wants to sweep here but Wiltsie controlling him for the moment.
Agrabah can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Wiltsie controls the pace.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Agrabah is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Agrabah is refusing to be controlled, as Wiltsie sits in half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Wiltsie motions for Agrabah to come forward. Wiltsie throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Agrabah throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Wiltsie waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Agrabah.
Agrabah throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Wiltsie lands with an overhand left.

Wiltsie misses with an uppercut. Agrabah saw that one coming.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Wiltsie counters with a leg kick.

Agrabah closes the distance and clinches.

Wiltsie pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Agrabah tries to land a leg kick but Wiltsie saw it coming and moves away.
No joy there for Wiltsie, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jafar Agrabah seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Wiltsie checks a leg kick.

Wiltsie tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Agrabah swivels and escapes.

Wiltsie takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Agrabah throws a sloppy head kick and Wiltsie moves out of range easily.
Nice takedown defense from Agrabah. No joy for Wiltsie on that attempt.
Agrabah throws a body kick that misses.
Wiltsie looks to throw the jab but Agrabah is out of range.
Agrabah connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Agrabah walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Agrabah throws out a leg kick but Wiltsie moves out of range and Agrabah only half commits.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jafar Agrabah will probably get the nod.

Agrabah lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Wiltsie throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Agrabah fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Wiltsie checks it well.
Wiltsie throws a right and a left that Agrabah avoids nicely.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Agrabah lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Wiltsie has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Wiltsie and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Wiltsie tests Agrabah's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Agrabah pivots, looking for a leg kick but Wiltsie is out of range and Agrabah settles back down.
A looping hook to the body misses from Wiltsie. Agrabah does a little dance to reset his feet.
Agrabah turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Wiltsie moves out of range of the body kick.
Agrabah is looking to score with low kicks.
Wiltsie misses with a body shot.
Wiltsie lands with a slapping head kick.

Wiltsie bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Agrabah controls the position for a moment.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Agrabah can't do much from the bottom here.
Wiltsie is looking to take a break and control but Agrabah is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Robert Wiltsie.
Wiltsie fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Agrabah.

Agrabah forces Wiltsie back against the cage and clinches.
Agrabah can't find room to land a body shot as Wiltsie controls the action.
Wiltsie blocks a body shot from Agrabah.
Wiltsie pushes Agrabah back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Wiltsie's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Agrabah swings wildly with an uppercut but Wiltsie uses good head movement to avoid it.
Agrabah misses with a short punch on the inside.
Agrabah misses with a hook from the clinch.
Wiltsie is trying to stall.
Wiltsie fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robert Wiltsie really dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Wiltsie fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Agrabah manages to avoid it.
Wiltsie stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Wiltsie, as that shot connected.
Wiltsie misses with a body punch
and Agrabah cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Wiltsie on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Agrabah. Agrabah obviously looking to wear him down.
Agrabah is looking to land body kicks.
Wiltsie throws the left hand but Agrabah avoids the punch easily.

and Wiltsie counters with a slapping leg kick.
Wiltsie lands with a thumping leg kick.

and Agrabah makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Agrabah throws a solid leg kick but Wiltsie takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Agrabah.

Agrabah moves away from the strike by Wiltsie.
Agrabah feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Wiltsie's calf.

Agrabah tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Wiltsie is able to avoid easily.

Agrabah buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Agrabah throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Wiltsie throws a left and a right that both miss
and Agrabah makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Agrabah misses with a kick to the body.
Wiltsie throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Good exchange - Wiltsie coming out on top.

Wiltsie drives through with a takedown into guard.
Agrabah is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Agrabah is wriggling around but Wiltsie manages to pass to half guard.

Wiltsie trying to control from half guard but Agrabah is working away.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Agrabah wants to control but Wiltsie is keeping busy and won't allow it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Agrabah manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Wiltsie swings away with a body shot that misses
and Agrabah counters with an outside leg kick.
Agrabah slips under a jab from Wiltsie.
A chopping leg kick lands by Wiltsie.
Donk. Wiltsie catches Agrabah right on the button with a cross.
Wiltsie throws a solid leg kick but Agrabah takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Wiltsie.
A low kick from Wiltsie is predictable there
and Agrabah makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Wiltsie throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
The fight stays on the outside here - Wiltsie looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Wiltsie thuds his right hand into Agrabah's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close fourth round but I would say that Jafar Agrabah will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

and Wiltsie counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Agrabah!
Wiltsie controlling the pace for now.
Agrabah is looking to improve his position but Wiltsie isn't that keen on the idea.

Agrabah wants to hold on but Wiltsie pushes him away.
Wiltsie takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Let's hope that Wiltsie has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Agrabah really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Wiltsie controlling the position easily from mount.
Agrabah is squirming around, avoiding Wiltsie's attempts to control the action.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Agrabah is trying to escape the mount.
Wiltsie lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Agrabah's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Agrabah wants to control but Wiltsie is having none of it.
Wiltsie tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Agrabah is in all sorts of trouble here.

And that's the end of the fight!
Robert Wiltsie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Wiltsie has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
