Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jay Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Richard Head!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Head throws a head kick that misses.
Johnson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Head stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Head closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Head throws a head punch that misses.
Head goes for a takedown attempt but Johnson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Head pulls guard effortlessly.

Johnson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Johnson wants to pass the guard but Head is keeping the position.
Head wants to sweep here but Johnson controlling him for the moment.
Head is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Head looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Johnson drops Head with a beautiful combination! Head stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Johnson is looking for the KO!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Johnson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Head changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Johnson tries to avoid it but Head manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Johnson to the ground. Johnson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
