The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Silva there as he acknowledges the shot.
Thomson looks to score with a jab to the body but Silva is just out of range.
Silva will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Thomson tries to bum rush Silva with a series of wild strikes but Silva uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Thomson moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Silva is rocked!

Thomson moves into the clinch.
Silva is still on wobbly legs! Can Thomson finish him?

Thomson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Silva showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Thomson.
Thomson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Silva is holding his hands too far apart here. Thomson throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Silva is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!
