Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimbo Malac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnson Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jimbo Malac!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Johnson Jones!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Emerson Jorge and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice combo by Jones! Oh, that's hurt him - Malac falls to the canvas and Jones follows him into side control.


Malac is rocked!


It looks like Jimbo Malac has been cut.

Jones has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Oh Malac is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jones fails in his attempt to clinch.

Malac fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jones, pushing him back against the cage.
Malac seems to have got his legs back now.
Malac has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jones is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Jones tries to stall but Malac uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Jones seems frustrated at his inability to get double underhooks.
Jones digs a right hand underneath Malac's ribcage. Malac let out a lung full of air as it connected.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
A short body shot lands from Jones as the two fighters clinch.
Jones lands a left hand.
Malac fails to pull guard.
Jones working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Jones stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Jones lands with a short shot to the head.
A right hand to the body from Jones.
Malac tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jones smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimbo Malac. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Malac circles away from the clinch attempt
and Malac counters with a head kick.
Jones wants to clinch but Malac slips to the side

and Malac counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Malac is working for a kimura but Jones is defending it quite comfortably.
Malac is breathing heavily.

Jones wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Malac takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Malac prevents Jones from standing back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Jones kicks off Malac and gets to his feet.
Jones closes the distance but Malac moves to the side

and Malac counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Jones pushes Malac off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Jones gets caught flat footed, as Malac shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Malac stops Jones from standing up.
Malac might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Jones is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Jones lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

Malac pulls Jones into guard.
Malac managing to control the position.

Jones avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Jones stands up from Malac's guard - Jones perhaps looking for a knockout.
Malac throws a series of strikes that have Jones backpedaling.
Jones tries to clinch

and Malac counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Malac performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Jones has one foot on Malac's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Malac shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jones's guard.
Malac is standing up over Jones. Jones looks to escape but Malac dives into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jones tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Malac counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Malac looking to sit in guard and control but Jones gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jones wanted to stand there but Malac had control of the position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jimbo Malac will probably get the nod.

Malac closes the distance and clinches.
Jones lands a left hand that snaps the head of Malac backwards.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Jones lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jones looks to clinch

and Malac counters with a takedown into side control.
Jones is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Malac is controlling him well.
Jones takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Jones is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Malac asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Jones is trying to escape the position but Malac is controlling the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Malac scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Jones to see if he's OK.
Malac is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Jones's shoulder. That is not cool.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones pushes Malac away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Malac gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Malac stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Jones tries to clinch but Malac moves away

and Malac counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jones won't be happy with that.
Jones is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Jimbo Malac overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Jones throws Malac to one side and escapes!
Jones looks to clinch

so Malac counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Malac stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Malac shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Malac showed some decent athleticism there.
Malac is taking a breather. Jones says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Malac looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Malac uses his free foot to push down on Jones's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Jones.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Malac sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Jones wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jones is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Malac shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Jones is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Jones lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Malac.
Malac blocks the elbow strike.
Jones lands a right hand.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Jones.
Jones using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Jones scores with an uppercut up the middle.
With the fighters up against the cage, Jones throws an elbow but misses.

Malac breaks from the clinch.
Jones tries to clinch but Malac is having none of it.

Malac looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jones looks like he's trying to stand up.

Malac is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jones doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Malac.

Jones kicks off Malac and gets to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Malac instigates a clinch.
Malac is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Malac tries to pull guard but Jones holds him up against the cage and eventually Malac drops back down to his feet.
Jones lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Malac breaks from the clinch.
Malac misses with a head kick.
Jones wants to clinch

and Malac counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Jones keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Jones wants to get back to his feet.

Malac controlling the action here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jones wants to clinch

and Malac counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Malac is standing up over Jones. Jones looks to escape but Malac dives into side control.
Malac is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Jones will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Malac advances to full mount.
Malac tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Malac is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Jones is surviving well by controlling Malac's body position as best he can.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Malac get's back to his feet.

Malac feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Malac, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
