Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mufasa Boombata!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kim Jong!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boombata slips a jab and a cross from Jong.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Boombata.
Boombata gets to mount! Jong was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Jong is trying to escape the mount.
Boombata tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Boombata's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Jong tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Boombata looking to control and managing it successfully.
Jong is in all sorts of trouble here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jong is trying to escape back to his feet but Boombata uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Jong wants to control but Boombata is having none of it.
Jong is working to get back to half guard.
Boombata sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Boombata is standing up, even though he is in mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Jong misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Boombata.
Jong tries to bum rush Boombata with a series of wild strikes but Boombata uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jong throws a lazy right hand but Boombata sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Boombata closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Jong tries to buck Boombata off but Boombata is having none of it.
Jong tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Boombata presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Boombata controlling the pace for now.
Jong tries to reverse the position but Boombata maintains control.

Jong is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Jong bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Boombata is looking to stand up but Jong isn't so interested in that idea.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Jong drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jong jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jong postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Boombata is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jong, into his guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mufasa Boombata dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Boombata takes one to the chin there.
Jong misses with the combination.
Kim Jong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Boombata shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jong napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Jong tries to control but Boombata manages to take his back.
Jong wants to get back to his feet.
Jong breaks Boombata's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Jong is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Boombata is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Boombata has escaped and now he's on top!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Jong working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Boombata has passed into half guard!
Jong wants to control but Boombata is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Mufasa Boombata is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jong is looking to get back to full guard here but Boombata has managed to pass to side control instead.
