The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Big Boy closes the distance and clinches.

Grapling has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Big Boy avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Big Boy ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Big Boy no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Big Boy shoots for a takedown but Grapling saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Big Boy is looking to clinch.

Big Boy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Big Boy throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Grapling was covering up waiting for the punch and Big Boy finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Big Boy wants to pass the guard but Grapling is keeping the position.

Big Boy drops back, looking for a kneebar! Grapling looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Grapling looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Grapling!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Grapling thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Grapling wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Big Boy, who protects the arm well.
Grapling is breathing heavily.

Big Boy fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Big Boy misses with a takedown attempt - Grapling sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Big Boy closes the distance and clinches up with Grapling, looking for a takedown. Big Boy pushes Grapling against the cage but Grapling circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Grapler Grapling has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Taru Big Boy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Grapling is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Grapling stops Big Boy from passing to mount.
Big Boy is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Grapling's shoulder. That is not cool.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Grapling doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Big Boy counters with a single leg into guard. Grapling didn't expect that.

Big Boy gets to his feet - Grapling follows without any prompting.
Big Boy shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Grapling sprawls well. Grapling wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Big Boy gets slowly back to his feet.

and Big Boy counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Big Boy.

Big Boy wants the takedown. Grapling is fighting it off but Big Boy persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Grapling's guard against the cage.

Big Boy has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Grapling to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Big Boy is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Grapling pulls down on the head and he's put Big Boy to sleep! This one is all over!
