The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simomaa lands with a nice body punch.
A bone on bone clash there as Simomaa blocks the leg kick.
Simomaa sizes up Fortuna with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Simomaa cracks Fortuna with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Fortuna shoots in looking for a takedown. Simomaa tries to sprawl out of it but Fortuna keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Simomaa manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Fortuna fails with an attempt to clinch.
Fortuna on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Fortuna throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Simomaa misses with a hook.
Simomaa digs a good body shot into Fortuna's ribs.
Fortuna motions for Simomaa to come forward. Fortuna throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Fortuna tries to move into range but Simomaa moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Simomaa clinches up against the cage.
Fortuna misses with a knee strike.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Fortuna using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Simomaa has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Simomaa is struggling to control the position.
Simomaa comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

It looks like Bib Fortuna has been cut.
Fortuna stalling the fight.

Fortuna avoids a wild elbow strike from Simomaa.
Simomaa will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Fortuna up against the cage.
Simomaa on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Fortuna throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Simomaa blocks it with crossed arms.
Fortuna blocks the elbow strike.
Fortuna takes an elbow to the temple.
Simomaa stalls.
Simomaa gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Fortuna is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Simomaa lands an elbow just above Fortuna 's eye.

That has opened up Bib Fortuna's cut even more.
Simomaa misses with an elbow over the top.
Fortuna takes an elbow to the temple.

The cut above Bib Fortuna's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Simomaa creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Fortuna's defenses.

Bib Fortuna's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Simomaa lands a nice elbow.

Fortuna is rocked!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Bib Fortuna's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
