PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jacque Schtrappe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ciprian Bogatu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Bruno Hogan and John Mangel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bogatu throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Schtrappe was covering up waiting for the punch and Bogatu finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Schtrappe utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Bogatu wants to pass the guard but Schtrappe is keeping the position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bogatu accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Bogatu slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bogatu tries to move to mount but Schtrappe blocks the move with his legs.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Bogatu fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Schtrappe sprawls well initially but Bogatu persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Schtrappe on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Schtrappe tries to get out of the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Bogatu thows a huge punch but Schtrappe dodges it nicely.

Bogatu is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bogatu is looking to take a break and control but Schtrappe is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Bogatu uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Schtrappe.

Schtrappe closes the distance and pushes Bogatu back into the cage.

Schtrappe breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bogatu keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bogatu takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
