PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Faria (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and mr pickles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). mr pickles told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, mr pickles!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Glass and Colin Fotheringham.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
pickles is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Faria takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
A decent looking cross lands there for pickles.
pickles is trying hard to land a takedown here. Faria sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Horrible takedown by pickles or perhaps it was just good defense by Faria which made him look bad.

Faria forces pickles back against the cage and clinches.

pickles breaks from the clinch.
pickles changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Faria tries to avoid it but pickles manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Faria to the ground. Faria escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Lucas Faria has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of mr pickles.

pickles is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Faria is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Faria has escaped and now he's on top!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Faria pushes pickles off and scrambles back to his feet.
pickles blocks a head kick by Faria.
pickles shoots in for a takedown but Faria shows good takedown defense.
pickles swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Faria scores with a decent looking hook.
Faria changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. pickles tries to avoid it but Faria manages to keep hold of a leg and drag pickles to the ground. pickles escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Faria scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Faria throws a right and a left that pickles avoids nicely.

Faria closes the distance but pickles moves to the side

and pickles decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Faria's guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A close round but mr pickles will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Faria wants to get up but he can't break pickles's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Faria controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

pickles wants to stand and escape but Faria is having none of it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

pickles feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That's time! Faria's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

pickles has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Faria clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

pickles is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Faria defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

I would just about give that final round to mr pickles.
