Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Curtis Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vincenzo Calliente (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson comes to the cage accompanied by Patiently Waiting. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Curtis Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 17 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vincenzo Calliente!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Bruno Lombardi and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson pivots, looking for a leg kick but Calliente is out of range and Jackson settles back down.
Calliente changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jackson tries to avoid it but Calliente manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jackson to the ground. Jackson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Vincenzo Calliente seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Calliente checks a low kick from Jackson.
Calliente avoids the head kick by Jackson.
Calliente will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Jackson goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Calliente fails to land the takedown.
Curtis Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vincenzo Calliente.

Calliente shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jackson's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jackson kicks Calliente off and gets to his feet.
Jackson connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Calliente looks gassed!
Jackson misses with a head kick.
Jackson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jackson throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Jackson throws a nice inside leg kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jackson misses with a head kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jackson throws a nice head kick!
Calliente takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
A solid leg kick lands there for Jackson.
Jackson looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Jackson lands a big head kick that sends Calliente tumbling to the mat! Jackson takes a step backwards and waves Calliente back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Calliente is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jackson throws a quick head kick that knocks Calliente silly! This fight is all over! What a finish! Jackson is up on the cage, taking in the applause from the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Curtis Jackson!
