The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping leg kick lands for Wynd.
Wynd pivots, looking for a leg kick but ruffy is out of range and Wynd settles back down.
ruffy shoots in for a double leg but Wynd sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Wynd tries a head kick but it misses.
ruffy misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Wynd throws a nice looking combination but ruffy bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Wynd throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hector Wynd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Wynd goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

It looks like cheyenne ruffy has been cut.

Wynd bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in ruffy's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wynd accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Wynd will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

ruffy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
ruffy is trying to control. Wynd wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

ruffy is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Wynd doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time ruffy.

ruffy is looking for submissions but instead, Wynd has regained full guard.

Wynd wants to stand but ruffy is controlling the position.

Wynd pushes ruffy off and gets back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wynd bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
