The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hieron slaps away a takedown attempt from Gracie, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Hieron throws a right and a left that Gracie avoids nicely.
Some wild striking there from Hieron.
Gracie dodges the punch combination from Hieron.
Hieron misses with the combination.
Hieron throws a series of punches but Gracie avoids them all with ease.
Gracie looks for a takedown but Hieron sprawls well.
Hieron tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Hieron misses with a series of wild punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hieron looks to land a combination but Gracie avoids it well.
Gracie takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Hieron moves into range and clinches up with Gracie.
Gracie fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ronin Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gracie fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Gracie tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hieron just stands there and leans against the ropes.
Gracie jumps guard but Hieron stands there with Gracie around his waist. Gracie gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Hieron stops a takedown attempt from Gracie.
Hieron works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Gracie fails to pull guard.
Gracie tries to pull guard but Hieron holds him up against the ropes and eventually Gracie drops back down to his feet.
Gracie jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hieron walks away with a smile on his face. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
A punch combination from Hieron misses.

Gracie checks the leg kick.
Gracie needs to keep his hands up - Hieron had a free shot at his head there.
Hieron misses with a two punch combination.
Hieron throws a series of strikes that have Gracie backpedaling.

Hieron throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hieron looks gassed!

Gracie closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Hieron is trying to improve his position.

Gracie is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Hieron is trying to escape and Gracie transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Hieron is forced to tap! Nice work there by Gracie! Very nice indeed!
