Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jay Benjamin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenny Irwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jay Benjamin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jay Benjamin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benjamin tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Benjamin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Irwin shoots for a double leg takedown but Benjamin sprawls well. He's pushed Irwin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Irwin drives through and clinches with Benjamin against the cage.

Irwin manages to break the clinch.

Irwin darts in and clinches Benjamin up against the cage.
Irwin is trying to break free.

Benjamin breaks from the clinch.
Irwin fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Benjamin misses with a hook.

Irwin digs a right hand into Benjamin's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Benjamin's gas tank.

Irwin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Irwin throws a series of punches but Benjamin avoids them all with ease.

Benjamin wants to break the clinch but can't.
Irwin is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Irwin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Benjamin is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Irwin takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Benjamin breaks the clinch.

Irwin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Irwin is standing up over Benjamin. Benjamin looks to escape but Irwin dives into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Irwin stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Benjamin tries to land a body kick

and Irwin counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Benjamin scores with a shot to the side of Irwin's head.
Benjamin is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Irwin drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jay Benjamin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenny Irwin.
Benjamin has had enough of the clinch but Irwin keeps him there for the moment.

Benjamin manages to break the clinch.
Benjamin connects with a nice cross there... Irwin is looking wobbly and Benjamin recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Irwin to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Benjamin jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
