Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black tries to close the distance and clinch up but Takahashi swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Takahashi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Black's waist but Black gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Takahashi off to one side.
Black tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Takahashi paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Black shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Takahashi stops Black from getting back to his feet.

Black jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Takahashi walks away with a smile on his face. Black gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Takahashi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Takahashi tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Black goes for a takedown attempt but Takahashi pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Takahashi bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Black dips to his left and cracks Takahashi with an uppercut!

and Takahashi counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Black drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Takahashi gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Takahashi lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Black backwards.

Takahashi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Black moves in looking to clinch but Takahashi pushes him off.

Mike Thomas Black seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Black fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

No joy there for Takahashi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Takahashi using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Black has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Black looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Black wants to work for an arm triangle but Takahashi is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

I would just about give that final round to Mike Thomas Black.
Well Takahashi has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
