Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, ethan hawke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Tim Hortons!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Donald Grub and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by hawke or perhaps it was just good defense by Hortons which made him look bad.
Hortons gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows hawke to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Hortons is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. hawke is aware though and is defending well.
hawke stands up over Hortons, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Hortons working for a triangle but hawke defends it easily.
hawke thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Hortons is looking for a triangle but hawke pushes his legs off easily.
hawke drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and hawke jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hortons looking for a guillotine here but hawke defends easily.
hawke is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Hortons working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. hawke doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. hawke manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round.
hawke drops back looking for a leg! Hortons is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hortons manages to kick hawke off! hawke jumps back into Hortons's guard.
hawke is in close to Hortons's body, working some short punches and elbows.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hortons escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. hawke gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hortons looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Hortons looks gassed!
hawke is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Hortons has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. hawke is looking to defend but Hortons has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for hawke! Hortons pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, hawke taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Tim Hortons!
