The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cervic walks into a straight right hand from Rodriguez.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Cervic checks a leg kick.
Rodriguez fails in his attempt to clinch.
Rodriguez throws a head kick but Cervic moves out of range.
Cervic shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rodriguez but Rodriguez pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Rodriguez throws a front kick that sends Cervic stumbling back into the cage.
Cervic avoids the head kick by Rodriguez.
Rodriguez tries to clinch but Cervic is having none of it.
Rodriguez is looking to clinch but Cervic is avoiding it.

Rodriguez throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Cervic stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Rodriguez follows into mount!

It looks like Luka Cervic has been cut.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cervic is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Rodriguez has taken his back!
Rodriguez somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.

Rodriguez lands strikes to the head.

Rodriguez cracks Cervic with a big right hand from the back mount! Cervic immediately covers up and the referee dives in to save him under a barrage of more strikes! Rodriguez takes this one by TKO!
