The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mensah uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Elia.
Elia tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mensah was well out of range. Poor timing from Elia.
Elia darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Elia wants to work for an arm triangle but Mensah is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Elia is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mensah is just riding it out for now. Elia eventually gives up the hold.
Elia seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Mensah is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
