The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penndragon takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
It looks like BJ Penndragon has been cut.
Montoya lands a nice shot that snaps Penndragon's head back.
Montoya misses with a double jab.
Penndragon shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Montoya as he jumps to the side.
A head kick misses from Montoya.
Penndragon looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Montoya is fending him off so far but Penndragon persists. Nope, Montoya circles away and we're back to standing.
Montoya thuds his right hand into Penndragon's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Montoya fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Penndragon, pushing him back against the cage.

Penndragon tries to score a body lock takedown but Montoya shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Carlito Montoya has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of BJ Penndragon.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Montoya manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Penndragon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Montoya's waist but Montoya gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Penndragon off to one side.
Montoya throws a right and a left that both miss.
Montoya lands a head kick. Penndragon smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
That has opened up BJ Penndragon's cut even more.
Montoya darts in and clinches Penndragon up against the cage.
Montoya lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Montoya swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Montoya misses with a hook from the clinch.

Montoya throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Penndragons head.

Penndragon is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Montoya pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Penndragon on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Penndragon tries to pull guard but Montoya won't allow it.

Montoya lands a right hand that snaps the head of Penndragon backwards.

BJ Penndragon's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Montoya misses with a hook from the clinch.
Montoya lands an elbow just above Penndragon 's eye.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at BJ Penndragon's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
