Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronnie Haawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopez fails to land with a series of punches.
Lopez fails with an attempt to clinch.
Lopez fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Haawa sprawls well initially but Lopez persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Lopez works his foot free and advances to mount.
Haawa wants to hold on but Lopez pushes him away.
Haawa just holding on.
Lopez takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Lopez trying to control but Haawa is having none of it.

Haawa tries to lock up and control but Lopez gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lopez looking to control but Haawa is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Lopez is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Haawa is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Lopez working some short elbows here. He postures up to throw some more ground and pound but Haawa slips a leg through to get back to half guard. Nice work.
Haawa moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jorge Lopez.
Lopez misses with a leg kick.
Jorge Lopez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lopez throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lopez tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Lopez doesn't manage to clinch there - Haawa circles away.
Haawa checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Lopez shoots in but no luck this time.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Haawa decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lopez's guard.
Lopez wants to stand but Haawa is controlling the position.
Haawa missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Haawa trying to control the position from guard on top but Lopez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lopez wants to sweep here but Haawa controlling him for the moment.
Haawa decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lopez, up you get!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Haawa counters with a nice body kick.

Lopez misses with a takedown
and Haawa counters with a low kick, right behind Lopez 's knee.
Haawa lands a jab-cross combination.
Haawa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lopez's waist but Lopez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Haawa off to one side.
Lopez takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

and Haawa counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Haawa passes the guard and advances to mount!

Haawa with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Haawa looking to control but Lopez is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Haawa avoids the attempt from Lopez to control.
Haawa scores with a couple of good head shots there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Haawa controlling the pace for now.

Haawa is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Lopez can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Lopez tries to lock up and control but Haawa gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Haawa wants to finish this one by submission but Lopez is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Haawa.
Lopez is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Haawa controlling from the full mount.
Haawa quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Haawa but it's paid off an Lopez is forced to tap! Nice work by Haawa.
