Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bruce Leeroy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Takehide Nakatani!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nakatani gets caught flat footed, as Leeroy shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Nakatani tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Leeroy wanted to stand there but Nakatani had control of the position.
Leeroy trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Leeroy being controlled here momentarily.

Nakatani looking to hit a scissor sweep but Leeroy is one step ahead there.
Nakatani utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Leeroy fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Nakatani stuffs the takedown.

Nakatani fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Leeroy sprawls well initially but Nakatani persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Leeroy on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Leeroy tries to get out of the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Nakatani gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Leeroy is looking to stand up but Nakatani won't let him.
Nakatani pulls Leeroy in close to prevent any damage.

Leeroy has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Nakatani is proving hard to escape from.

Leeroy is looking to stand up but Nakatani won't let him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Leeroy misses with a takedown

so Nakatani counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bruce Leeroy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nakatani trying to control but Leeroy is working from the bottom.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Leeroy wants to stand and escape but Nakatani is having none of it.
Nakatani sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Leeroy keeping moving, preventing Nakatani from controlling successfully.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Takehide Nakatani dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Leeroy gets the takedown into side control.
Leeroy tries to stand but Nakatani is controlling his head.
Nakatani is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Leeroy's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Leeroy wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Nakatani uses the opportunity to regain full guard.

Leeroy wants to get up but he can't break Nakatani's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Nakatani bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Leeroy's guard.

Leeroy wants to stand up but Nakatani is controlling him.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Nakatani trying to control the position from guard on top but Leeroy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Leeroy is looking to stand up but Nakatani isn't so interested in that idea.
Nakatani trying to control but Leeroy is working from the bottom.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Leeroy can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Nakatani controls the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Takehide Nakatani.

Leeroy changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nakatani looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Leeroy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nakatani keeps working.

That's five minutes gone in the round.
Nakatani manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Leeroy sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Nakatani defending well though.

Leeroy decides to stand up.
Leeroy gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

so Nakatani counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Nakatani won't allow Leeroy to get back to his feet.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Nakatani prevents Leeroy from getting back to his feet.
Leeroy trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Nakatani controls from within his opponent's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Nakatani stops Leeroy from standing up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Leeroy feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Leeroy wants to get up but he can't break Nakatani's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Nakatani is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Nakatani lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Leeroy!

I would just about give that final round to Takehide Nakatani.
Well Nakatani has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
