Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lock Bresnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mubarrak Kazim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mubarrak Kazim will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lock Bresnar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mubarrak Kazim!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kazim throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bresnar was covering up waiting for the punch and Kazim finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Bresnar has a closed guard, preventing Kazim from standing up.
Bresnar wants to get back to his feet but Kazim is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Kazim wants to control from the top but Bresnar keeps moving.
Bresnar on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bresnar tries to get out of the position.
Kazim won't allow Bresnar to get back to his feet.

Bresnar scrambles and gets back to his feet.

and Kazim finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Kazim stops Bresnar from getting back to his feet.
Kazim wants to free his trapped foot but Bresnar is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Bresnar is trying to stand.
Kazim is taking a breather. Bresnar says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Kazim has closed the distance and engaged Bresnar in a clinch.
Kazim should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Kazim has clasped his hands together around Bresnar's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kazim stands up and beckons Bresnar to his feet.

Kazim bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Kazim really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bresnar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bresnar got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kazim has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bresnar has managed to get both his arms back between Kazim's legs - danger averted.

You can see the frustration on Kazim's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mubarrak Kazim dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Bresnar has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bresnar swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
