The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smithers slips a jab and a cross from Straw.
Straw shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Straw shoots in but no luck this time.
Smithers waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Straw.
Smithers shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Straw but Straw pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Smithers is looking to clinch but Straw is avoiding it.
Straw throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Smithers.
Straw gets caught flat footed, as Smithers shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Smithers forces his way into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smithers moves into full mount! Straw won't be happy about that!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Straw can do anything to dispel that myth.
Smithers wants to take his opponent's back but Straw doesn't allow it.
Straw really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smithers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Smithers with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Straw tries to hold on but Smithers postures up.

Smithers is persistently looking for the submission but Straw is defending it well.
