Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hardy Pickette!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nolan Smith!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Steve Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith throws a right and a left that both miss.
Pickette shoots in looking for a takedown. Smith tries to sprawl out of it but Pickette keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Smith manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Good leg kick by Pickette there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Pickette shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Smith pinned against the cage. Smith gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Pickette shoots in for a takedown but Smith shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hardy Pickette. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smith keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Pickette lands with a nice combination. Smith backs away looking to recover.

Smith shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Pickette manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Smith is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Pickette looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Smith puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Pickette is concentrating on defense, preventing Smith from advancing position.

Smith decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Smith drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Smith distracts Pickette with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Smith stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pickette swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Smith postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Smith gets to his feet. Pickette looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Pickette will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Pickette is breathing heavily.

Smith has Pickette up against the cage in a clinch.

Smith works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Pickette knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pickette trying to keep a closed guard but Smith is proving a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pickette looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Smith seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Smith stands up from Pickette's guard - Smith perhaps looking for a knockout.

Smith pushes Pickette up against the cage in a clinch.
Smith wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Smith has hold of one of Pickette's legs. Pickette is fighting the takedown attempt but Smith gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Smith is stalling in the full guard.

Smith lands a couple of elbows.
Smith advances to half guard.
Smith takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Ground and pound from Smith.
Smith is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Smith maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Pickette could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Smith has cracked it and Pickette is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Smith!
