The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Helio leaves Wob with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Helio lunges at Wob with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Wob's hand.

Helio throws a leg kick which misses Wob's front leg but catches the back leg as Wob tries to avoid it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Helio seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wob does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mikal Helio.
Helio throws a nice looking combination but Wob bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Wob sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Helio tries to bum rush Wob with a series of wild strikes but Wob uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Helio cracks Wob with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Wob changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Helio looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Helio is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Helio manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Helio fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Helio cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Helio jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Wob is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Wob and Helio has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Helio lands a nice hook to Wob's body. Wob takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Wob takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Wob tries to score a body lock takedown but Helio shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Wob is trying to break the clinch but Helio is controlling him.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Helio creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Wob can't break the clinch.
Wob is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Helio pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Helio gets through Wob's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Helio turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Helio manages to end up in side control.

Helio misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wob can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Helio's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
