Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Remy Bonjasky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thijs Meyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Meyer tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bonjasky paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Meyer bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Meyer has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Bonjasky.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Bonjasky looks to land a combination. Meyer sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Meyer is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Bonjasky here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Meyer closes the distance and clinches up with Bonjasky, looking for a takedown. Meyer pushes Bonjasky against the cage but Bonjasky circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Meyer is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

Meyer slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Bonjasky is wriggling around but Meyer manages to pass to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Meyer looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Meyer stops Bonjasky from getting back to his feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Meyer passes the guard and advances to mount!
Bonjasky tries to buck Meyer off but he can't manage it.

Meyer pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Bonjasky wants to try and get back to his feet.
Meyer controlling his opponent.
Meyer landing punches.
Bonjasky's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Remy Bonjasky is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Meyer tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Thijs Meyer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
