PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leifr Eiriksson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nico Obino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eiriksson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Life is wonderful. The crowd seem to be enjoying Obino's choice of entrance music: Korn - Freak On A Leash. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Leifr Eiriksson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nico Obino!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Obino shoots in and bounces Eiriksson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Obino wants to pass the guard but Eiriksson is keeping the position.
Obino missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Obino won't allow Eiriksson to sweep him here.
Eiriksson keeping moving, preventing Obino from controlling successfully.
Eiriksson wants to stand but Obino is controlling the position.
Obino is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Obino throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Eiriksson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Obino has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Eiriksson tries a head kick but it misses.
Obino blocks a low kick nicely.
Obino throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Obino is looking to take a break and control but Eiriksson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Obino cracks Eiriksson with a big right hand but Eiriksson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Nico Obino comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Obino has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
